Pool and Statue in Sarah Duke Gardens
When my friends Jen and Scott were living in North Carolina, Donna and I went down for a visit and we all spent a lovely spring day in the Sarah Duke Gardens. I didn’t get too many good shots that day, but I remember how lovely the garden was.
Red Tulips on Denim
When I was in college, I was lucky enough to take a year off, and spend half of it living in England. This shot was taken in my aunt’s back yard, using my denim shirt as a backdrop.
Iron Gate and Ivy
Another one from the gardens at Harkness. I was a bit surprised to realize this is the first photo I’ve posted that features ironwork… it’s one of my recurring themes.
Red Gerbera, Blue Vase
A morning post today, trying to get back to my regular workday routine. This was an impromptu still life in my living room. Gerberas and cobalt blue are two of Dan’s favorite things.
My Grandmother
Today’s post is a departure from the normal for me.This is not a photo I took; I’ve been working on some old family photos for my mom. This is my grandmother, who passed away earlier this year.

It was a lot of fun to make, and I always dreamed of seeing it bound in actual book form. Ten years ago, it was prohibitively expensive for a college student to get 26 decent digital prints, much less self-publish a book. Now, with all the great products that places like Shutterfly available, it’s well…
