The Pearl
Neon signs are another perennial interest of mine. Now that I’m shooting digital, it’s a lot easier to get good results, because I can see it as I shoot. New Orleans has a wealth of neon, ranging from nostalgic to raunchy. I’ll be posting more neon shots as I work through this project.

Beignets
No trip to New Orleans is complete without a trip (or two, or six…) to Cafe du Monde for beignets and coffee with chickory. I can take or leave the chickory in my coffee, but the beignets are not to be missed. Since we had ample opportunity to observe the operations at Cafe du Monde, we can tell you that they are in dire need of a workflow analysis. We’d be happy to do the job; they can pay us in beignets! 🙂
Hot Boiled Crawfish
We saw this local favorite dish advertised all over the place in New Orleans, but I liked this sign the best.

Crescent City Cover
One of the famous New Orleans drain covers; this one had one of the nicer surrounds that I came across.
