Bright Umbrellas on a Rainy Morning

From our trip to New Orleans earlier in the summer. It rained at least once every day we were there, usually in the afternoon. This was a morning shower; we found this scene in an alley across from our hotel as we were walking down the block, to get breakfast. Of course, the first photo I took looked like this: I forgot what happens to your lens when you go from very cold air conditioning to very hot, humid outside. Clearly, I’ve lived in the land of climate, rather than real weather, for a while now.

Ages ago, Susannah tagged me for the 8 random facts meme. I’m very late to this party, and I’m sure by now she’s hardly expecting a response from me. But, I’m finally getting my head above water after a really busy summer… so here it is: 1. I can’t bear to write with a dull pencil.
