  It’s very common to see nagas flanking the staircases in temples, with their bodies stretching to match the length of the stairs. They usually show a lot of detail from head to toe, and the bodies are often covered in individual scales, as seen here. 
  
  The ledge at the base of the chedi has been turned into an impromptu altar with offerings left by visitors.

  This is another of the water bowls I saw outside a shop entrance. I was so taken with these; I’ve tried to create one here at home but have not yet had a lot of luck with the water lilies. I will try again this spring.
